Ryan has worked with many of our clients but that's just part of our partnership. Our founder has also had the pleasure of hosting Ryan as a guest speaker at both George Mason University and American University to discuss estate planning with students.

Ryan shares his knowledge with the current and the next generation.

BIOGRAPHY

Ryan A. Brown is the founder and managing partner of Arlington Law Group, a boutique law firm in Arlington County, Virginia, specializing in estate planning, trust and estate administration, business law and tax planning.

Ryan started work at the age of eleven, building and repairing personal computers for a local store in Santa Barbara, California where he was raised.  He went on to study at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, winning awards in undergraduate research and teaching and earning a BS in Computer Science and BA in Spanish in 2000, and a MSE in Computer Science in 2002.  After moving to Arlington, Ryan went to law school at the George Mason University School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctorate Magna Cum Laude in December of 2006.

Since starting Arlington Law Group in 2007, Ryan has been actively involved in teaching and volunteering in the Arlington community.  In addition to regularly giving seminars on estate planning and tax matters, Ryan has taught numerous Continuing Legal Education courses for attorneys on trusts, estates, taxes and legal ethics.  Ryan's volunteer leadership roles include serving on the boards of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, the Arlington Corps of The Salvation Army, the Arlington County Bar Association.  Ryan also serves as legal counsel and in several leadership roles at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, in addition to singing tenor in the choir since 2007.

Ryan enjoys working with families and business owners in Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia to craft their estate plans and business succession plans.  Much of estate planning involves not only legal and tax concerns, but the bigger concerns of caring for the long term needs of the individuals that make up each family, and ensuring each client's legacy and philosophy conveys with their assets to their chosen beneficiaries.  Ryan has provided pro bono legal services to the Arlington Community Foundation and regularly partners with the Foundation to assist clients with their charitable legacy planning in conjunction with their estate planning projects.
